Instagram are set to start hiding hashtags

Developer Jane Manchun Wong tweeted a screenshot of the new feature. Not only will we have tidy captions, but we can also add an unlimited number of hashtags without having them appear in the final post.
It's expected to change back to 30 when Instagram sets it live.
Hiding hashtags would be a fabulous feature for influencers, businesses or people looking to increase their follower count, without making it look so obvious. As the feature is only in testing, it’s possible it won't ever go live.
It wouldn't be the first time Instagram has reconsidered the role of hashtags on the platform. Back in 2017, Instagram introduced ways to follow hashtags, and in March it made it possible to add hashtag links to your bio. Both features made hashtags more visible, which makes the hidden hashtags tool even more unexpected.
It does raise some interesting questions about what the world of social media would be like without visible hashtags. Are you all for it or would rather keep it as it is? Let us know in the comments.
