Which Type of Facebook Page is Right for Your Business?

You’ve decided that your business needs a Facebook page but did you know there are several different types? Six different pages to be exact. This blog will ensure you make the right choice. No need to panic, you can change your page type later if you get it wrong but why get things wrong when we can help you get them right? The Facebook business page types are: Local Business or Place Company Organisation or Institution Brand or Product Artist, Band or Public Figure Entertainment Cause or Community If you have a ‘bricks and mortar’ store and want people to physically visit you, the Local Business or Place is the page for you. If your business isn’t the type that needs to attract foot traffic to your physical premises, or you have multiple locations, with a variety of addresses and opening hours then Company Organisation or Institution is the most suitable category for your business. Brand and Product page is fairly self-explanatory. If your products are sold through more than one website or stocked by more than one reseller / retailer, select the Brand or Product page type. The Artist, Band or Public Figure places a particular focus on and / or promoting you, you as an artist or a band. Sound like you? Then this is the right page to select. Entertainment Facebook page type is the category for you if your business is classed as entertainment such as a TV show, movie, book, radio station or magazine. Finally, the last page type is Cause or Community. If you’re a not-for-profit or charity organisation, we’d recommend you check this option out. It is always worth clicking on each square, access the information and evaluate it in order to find your perfect match. Having the right category can be more important versus the most relevant page type, as it is your category which defines you and your business.
