Get to know Mel who has joined our web development team. Mel graduated with a BSc in Computer Science and has built up a wealth of knowledge in the world of web development across multiple languages and frameworks. She is driven by the desire of problem-solving and committed to producing quality code.

1.  How does your morning usually start?

Being woken up by a tiny human needing my attention... and CBeebies.
2. What’s your favourite thing about being a Web Developer?

I like the challenges and problem-solving coding presents and I love seeing the end product knowing that I made it.
3. What’s on the menu for lunch?

Normally, just a boring sandwich, crisps, fruit & a cereal bar.
4. What songs are you playing in the office?

I'm either listening to white noise for concentrating or probably listening to Grimes.
5. What’s your proudest achievement?

Becoming a Mum. My degree was hard, but trying to get being a Mum 'right' is much more challenging.
6. Aside from the necessities, what is one thing you could not go a day without?

Excluding caffeine, my pyjamas. I would live in them if I could!
7. Three words to describe your personality

Introverted, tired and easy-going.

8. Your favourite place in Colchester and why?

Colchester Zoo. Always an obvious choice for something to do at the weekends, even more so now with my son! 
9. What did you want to be when you were little?

Magician. I gave up that as soon as I realised it wasn't real magic.
10. Who did you look up to growing up?

My Mum, I didn't look up to her when I was growing up but I should have! She was pretty much always setting a good example. She was hardworking and balanced, that with being a Mum and getting involved in charity.

11. Favourite app and why?

Probably my sudoku/crossword and other puzzle apps. I get bored easily!
12. Office snack of choice?

Anything in my packed lunch!
13. Favourite song for Monday motivation?

Boomtown Rats - I don't like Mondays. Maybe a bit de-motivational?

14. Memorable moment at work?

Probably getting a Nandos on my first day. Can never forget a good Nandos.
15. Best thing about working at Digital Reflow?

The support from everyone. I've been able to get up and running and stuck straight into work!
16. Would you rather always have to say what you are thinking or never be able to talk again?

Never talk again. Talking is hard work anyway!
17. Who is most likely to win an Oscar in the office?

David for his role in 'I'm 7 feet tall'.
18. Who is the most likely to spend their money on something stupid?

David. Again.

19. Who is the most likely to talk to animals?

Lois, she likes her cat!

20. Who is the most likely to become famous for the wrong reason?

I'm sorry David, it's you again.
